Grade One Book Giveaway
For the past 10 years the Canadian Children's Book Centre and TD Bank Financial Group join together to promote reading/literacy and give a Canadian book to students in Grade 1. This year students received Caramba by Marie-Louise Gay.
Surrey Christian School Book Awards 2010
After 30 years, the Canadian Children's Book Centre is moving its annual TD Canadian Children's Book Week from November to April. This is Canada's largest festival celebrating Canadian children's authors, illustrators, books and the importance of reading. For the past 17 years we have tied into this celebration by giving out a Surrey Christian School Book Award to a favourite book publish each year. We will continue this tradition in November each year. Giraffe and Bird by Rebecca Bender is the first book we have read.

Scholastic Book Club: November and December flyers will be sent home on Wednesday, November 10th. Please return the order forms by Thursday, November 18th. This will ensure that students receive their orders before Christmas Break. You may combine orders into one payment. If you would like an order to be a gift, please indicate that on the form and it will be kept in the library for you to pick up.
